Wike-aligned PDP pegs presidential forms at ₦51m
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, has pegged the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦51 million, in view of the 2027 general election, while the governorship forms sell at ₦21 million.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the National Organising Secretary of the faction, Umar Bature, in a timetable presented to journalists.
Based on the schedule of activities, submission of register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will take place April 21, 2026.
According to the timetable, expression of interest form was pegged at ₦1 million for all positions, while nomination fees vary for the respective positions.
State Houses of Assembly aspirants are to pay ₦2 million, House of Representatives ₦3 million, Senate ₦5 million, governorship ₦20 million, and presidential aspirants ₦50 million.
Female aspirants are only to pay for the expression of interest form.
Forms sale would commence April 27 and close May 4, while deadline for forms submission was fixed for May 9.
Aspirants for State Houses of Assembly, National Assembly and governorship positions would be screened May 11, while presidential aspirants would have their screening May 12.
Based on the timetable, INEC would be notified of the primaries April 22, as the presidential primary was fixed for May 18, while the governorship primaries would hold May 27.
House of Representatives primaries are scheduled for May 21, Senate May 23, State Houses of Assembly May 21 and May 24, while all cases of appeals would be concluded May 30, 2026.
