Messi makes team, Ronaldo misses out, as FIFA unveils World Cup Best XI
World football governing body FIFA has unveiled the official FIFA World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament as selected by fans.
Fabrizio Romano a transfer expert disclosed it on his X page. Real Madrid also shared the information on its official website.
Arranged in a 4-3-3 formation, the reigning champions Spain have three of its players featured in the team, including Marc Cucurella, full-back Pedro Porro and midfielder Rodri.
Players from six other outstanding countries in the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico also appear on the list.
Lionel Messi and defender Lisandro Martínez made the list for runners-up Argentina, while Kylian Mbappé, winger Michael Olise and centre-back Dayot Upamecano made the team for France.
Midfielder Jude Bellingham of England, Erling Haaland of Norway and Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha completed the eleven-man team.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored three goals in the tournament however did not make the team, with Portugal exiting the tournament in the Round of 16 in a
a 1-0 defeat to Spain.
