Fubara declares support for Wike-led Rainbow Coalition, guber candidate, backs Tinubu’s presidency
Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared support for the Rainbow Coalition, a political movement led by the minister of FCT and former governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike, comprising members of various political parties in the state.
Fubara declared support for the Coalition during a groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of Riven Medical Facility, a pharmaceutical factory in the state.
He affirmed support for President Bola Tinubu’s presidency, while also throwing his weight behind Kingsley Chinda, the APC governorship flagbearer, as his preferred candidate for the 2027 election in Rivers State.
He further urged supporters to back all candidates running on the Coalition’s platform in the 2027 elections, while noting an end to political conflicts in the state.
“I am supporting our Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our President, and he is the one we are supporting. The governorship candidate is the candidate I am supporting, and anybody who believes in me will support every candidate under the Rainbow Coalition.
“I am already in the family. I have returned to our family. Give your total support to the coalition. The time of war is over; it is now time for peace, and that peace will take us to another level,” Fubara stated.
The governor dissociated himself from any agenda that could threaten unity and peace in the state.
“I am not party to anything that will bring any form of disunity in this state. We have done what we need to do, and now we are moving forward,” he said.
Fubara further assured residents of his administration’s commitment to the successful completion of the medical consumables factory, a public-private investment project.
He described the project as a strategic investment that would boost industrialization, create jobs and position Rivers State as a production hub for medical consumables, adding that the first phase would be completed within three months.
