Country music legend Dolly Parton dies at 80
Legendary country music singer and songwriter Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80.
Her passing was announced on social media on Tuesday August 25, by Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver, who represented the Parton and Owens family.
Often referred to as the “Queen of Country”, Parton was one of the most-honored female country performers in history, having received several accolades, including 11 Grammy Awards, three Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe awards, among others.
The late Parton was known for global hits such as Coat of Many Colours, Jolene, I Will Always Love You, and other classics. She leaves behind decades-long legacy in music, film, business and philanthropy.
Parton passed in Nashville, Tennessee, though the cause of her death as announced by her nephew, is yet to be revealed.
