Police announce funeral rites for Late fmr IGP Arase
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has announced the funeral rites of late former Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase (Rtd.).
Arase passed away on August 31 at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja, at the age of 69.
Arase served as Nigeriaās 18th indigenous Inspector-General of Police before he was later appointed as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin for the Inspector General of Police, the funeral rites are expected to hold between September 24 and October 5 2025, at various ceremonies in Abuja, the hometown of the deceased Sabongida Ora (Edo State), and Benin City the Edo State capital.
The police said the late IGP would be remembered for his exemplary leadership, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to police reforms.
