Okpebholo mourns late President Buhari

Governor Monday Okpebholo has mourned the passing of former Nigerian President President, Muhammadu Buhari, who ruled the country as both military and civilian Head of State.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Fred Itua, Okpebholo described late President Buhari as a patriot and a disciplined leader with unwavering integrity who dedicated his life to the service of the country.
“It is with a heavy heart that we received the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. His Excellency was a man of immense character, whose commitment to combating corruption and ensuring national security left an indelible mark on our nation’s history. He served Nigeria with uncommon zeal and selflessness, and his legacy of probity and patriotism will forever be remembered”, he said.
The Governor highlighted the late President’s contributions to Nigeria’s development, specifically in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, and the fight against insurgency.
“Even after leaving office, President Buhari remained a respected elder statesman, offering invaluable counsel and guidance whenever called upon. His deep love for Nigeria was evident in every decision he made and every action he took”, he added.
Okpebholo further extended condolences to the family of the late President, the government and people of Katsina State, and Nigerians, as he prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.
