Court sacks Uzodimma, declares Okorocha APC senatorial candidate for Imo West
The Federal High Court, Abuja, has ordered Imo State governor Hope Uzodimma, to stop presenting himself as the Imo West senatorial district candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Justice Egwuatu in his ruling on Thursday held that Uzodinma did not win the May 18 primary election conducted by the APC and monitored by INEC.
He held that the evidence before the court bears sufficient proof that former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha won the majority of vote cast at the primaries, and as such, should be declared winner.
The judge thereby ordered Uzodinma to stop parading himself as the APC candidate immediately, while also ordering the party to forward Okorocha’s name as the APC candidate for the 2027 senatorial election in Imo West.
