Masari replaces Uzodimma as APC convention chairman
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has been replaced with ex-Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, as Chairman of the APC National Convention Central Coordination Committee in preparation for the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 2026.
This was disclosed on Friday by the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Surajudeen Basiru in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), who said that Uzodimma earlier named to lead the committee, would now serve as treasurer. Membership of the committee was also increased from 73 to 90.
According to Basiru, the committee was reconstituted after further consultations with the leadership and national stakeholders of the party.
“In further consultation with the leadership and national stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention has been reconstituted.
“Sub-committees of the Central Coordination Committee will be constituted and announced in due course,” the statement read.
Former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, was named Vice Chairman I, while Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will serve as Vice Chairman II. Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, remains Secretary of the committee, based on the new arrangement and reconstitution.
