Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammed Zuru dies in Egypt
The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Usman Zuru has reportedly passed on while receiving medical treatment in Cairo, Egypt.
The news of his death was disclosed by an official of the Kebbi State House of Assembly Murtala Diri in a statement issued on his official Facebook page.
“The death of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, came to us as a rude shock. It is a painful loss not only to Kebbi State but to the entire nation,” he said.
The statement described his passing as a major loss to his constituents, the legislature, the political class, and the state, having been a notable political figure from the Zuru emirate.
“The death of the Speaker is a significant loss to his constituents, the legislative body, and the state in general,” the statement added.
Until his demise, he represented Zuru Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, serving as Speaker of the 10th Assembly, and a leading voice in the state’s legislative arm and governance.
Details regarding his obsequies and other arrangements are expected to be announced by his family and the Government of Kebbi State.
