Broda Shaggi reportedly shot, police commence investigation
Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi has been reportedly shot and currently receiving treatment.
The incident which was said to have occurred at the Sango-Ota area has left many bothered about the development.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon while Shaggi was filming a comedy skit under the Sango-Ota bridge, sustaining a gunshot injury in the process.
While details of the event are still unfolding, the Ogun State Police Command is yet to confirm if the incident occured in the state, but however said it was currently conducting investigation into the matter.
Ogun State police spokesman, Oluseyi Babaseyi, in a statement on Friday, urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information while investigation was ongoing.
“For the sake of clarity, the command cannot confirm that Broda Shaggy was shot anywhere within Ogun State. Investigation into the matter has, however, commenced.
“Members of the public are kindly advised to refrain from spreading unverified information and allow the investigation to run its course,” he wrote.
However, Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed to reporters, an incident regarding a gunshot victim in a facility where Shaggi is reportedly receiving treatment.
She said detectives and a patrol team were mobilised to the hospital as soon as they were alerted, where they discovered the victim was Broda Shaggi.
“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
