Why I fought hard to achieve Galatasaray move – Osimhen
Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has explained why he strove to return to Galatasaray on a permanent transfer.
Galatasaray made history in Turkish football by signing Osimhen from Napoli for a transfer fee of €75 million.
Osimhen would be closing his deal with Galatsaray on Saturday in a signing ceremony which would hold at Rams Park before the Lazio match.
26-year-old Osimhen who arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday night, met with the Süper Lig champions fans at the Ataturk Airport.
In an interview with GSTV, Osimhen said he fought hard to return to Galatasaray after spending last season on loan at the club because of the deep bond he shares with the club, the people and the city.
“I have a deep connection with this club, this city, these people. That’s why I fought so hard to return here,” Osimhen said.
“I continue to have that feeling, to continue playing with a purpose. I want to do what’s best for myself and the fans, and I’m really happy to be here,” he added.
