Harry Kane, Alexia Putellas win 2026 Ballon d’Or in men, women categories
Harry Kane has beaten the likes of Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, making him the first English player to win the award in 25 years.
The Bayern Munich player lifted the trophy in his home city of London where the award ceremony and 70th anniversary held.
Kane also emerged winner of the Men’s Striker of the Year award, following his 73 goals for club and country across all competitions in the 2025/26 campaign.
He also aided Bayern in retaining their Bundesliga crown as part of a domestic treble, while also finishing as top scorer for the third season in the German top league.
Meanwhile, Alexia Putellas emerged the Women’s 2026 Ballon d’Or winner after an awesome season in Barcelona, winning the quadruple with the Catalans before moving on at the end of the season.
Alexia is lifting the Trophy for the third time in her career.
Other prizes awarded in London in the men’s category included Lamine Yamal emerging as Young Talent of the Year, Unai Simón as Goalkeeper of the Year, Luis de la Fuente as Coach of the Year and Paris Saint-Germain as Club of the year.
