Israel donates ambulances, medical
equipment to Nigeria
The State of Israel has donated a first batch of ambulances, medical equipment, and wheelchairs to the Nigerian government.
The donation was made at the port of Ashdod by Magen David Adom, on behalf of the Israeli government, and received by Nigeria’s ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Ufochukwu.
Also present at the event were representatives of the Israeli health ministry and members of the Nigerian embassy in Tel Aviv.
Ufochukwi who spoke during the handover, expressed gratitude to the Israeli government for the intervention, stating that the equipment would help strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system and improve emergency response, especially in underserved communities.
“We deeply appreciate Israel’s commitment to saving lives and deepening bilateral ties. This donation is a clear demonstration of friendship and solidarity between our two nations,” Ufochukwu stated.
The consignment which consists of fully equipped ambulances, modern medical devices, and wheelchairs, are expected to be deployed to hospitals and emergency centers across Nigeria to support patient care and disaster response efforts.
The development reflects Israel’s commitment to a more resilient health system in Nigeria and a growing partnership between both countries in health, technology transfer and humanitarian aid.
