Blessing CEO doctored my medical report to defraud Nigerians, breast cancer survivor narrates

A breast cancer survivor who goes by the name Deborah Mbara in a trending video on the social media space has accused Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, of doctoring her medical reports to defraud members of the public.

Blessing CEO, a self-proclaimed relationship expert had earlier claimed to have been diagnosed with stage four cancer amid wailings and claims of auctioning off her belongings.

In the now-viral video, Mbara who is an Asaba-based make-up artist said she had previously met her during a makeup session and later reached out to her through a friend, after she went public with her diagnosis.

She said she was emotionally moved to offer her support, even bringing a doctor to join them on a call, in order to offer her necessary guidance.

The situation however took a dramatic turn when Blessing CEO requested Mbara’s medical report in order to compare it with her own diagnosis.

Mbara who shared the document with her, said was surprised to later see a doctored version of it online as purported evidence of Blessing CEO’s illness.

Mbara in the video stated: “Sometime last year, Blessing CEO was in Asaba, and I was her makeup artist. Fast forward to last week, when she started crying that she had cancer, and sold off her properties. My friend reached out to her to check up on her. And we even got a doctor online to help us educate her and encourage her. I was telling her how God saw me through my own, and the scars.

“Then she said, ‘Zazi, can you just please help me send the report of when you were diagnosed so I could compare it with what my doctor gave to me?’ And I said ok no problem. Only for me to see on social media on Friday that it was my result that she doctored to back up the nonsense and the money people are raising for her.

“She said she never knew me and has never spoken to any of my family. But she was in Asaba on Monday to beg my husband and my family. I was not there because I was emotionally traumatized. And my husband said you have to go online, on social media, to apologize to Nigerians. I thought I was helping someone in need, not knowing she had another agenda.”

Mbara further denied involvement in the scheme. “Please, Nigerians, I don’t know anything about the doctored report that she is using to scam people of their money. I am not a party to it. This is evil, this is wickedness, this is demonic. I am a proud survivor. Jesus saved me,” she said.

Blessing CEO is currently facing widespread allegations of faking a cancer diagnosis to solicit financial support, as the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had earlier called for her arrest for altering the medical report of a cancer patient.
