More than 8,000 Delegates, 31 Governors to attend APC national convention
At least 8,433 delegates would be participating in the 2026 national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for March 27 and 28 at Eagle Square, Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu, cabinet members and 31 governors would be at the vanguard of the convention.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, while meeting with newsmen at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The Minister unveiled plans and readiness for the upcoming event, being Co-Chairman of the convention’s Media and Publicity Committee.
Idris urged committee members to work in a united front in order to ensure effectiveness in communication.
“A lot of sacrifice is expected from all, in line with the party’s vision for a united and disciplined approach to communicating to Nigerians,” he stated.
“As party members, we must reflect a significant attribute of our president,” Idris added.
He said while the party continues to strengthen its internal structures and democratic processes, the convention represented an important milestone in the process.
The convention is an avenue for APC members to choose national executives to spearhead the party’s affairs in preparations for the forthcoming general election.
Sources say the party may adopt a consensus approach in selecting national leaders during the convention.
The elected national officers would be in charge of party primaries in view of the 2027 election.
